AURORA Barcelona

WHY AURORA

It started with a good home panel. We noticed small improvements and became curious: what else could this technology do? That led us to full body pods. In Spain, there was nowhere to use one. And as so often, necessity is the mother of invention.

EMS came the same way, by coincidence. One of us was never sporty, and gyms were never his world. But at some point you know you have to strengthen your body to age well, function well and feel well. A few trial vouchers led to a first EMS session, he felt the difference, and to his own surprise, he stuck with it. Quick, intense, no gym atmosphere.

The other one of us had always trained. He was impressed by how quickly the results came, and even more by how EMS reached the areas he had always struggled with.

One of us a lifelong non-athlete, the other a regular trainer. Both convinced. We figured that if it worked for both of us, it could work for many more people. That's why AURORA exists.

We want these technologies to be for everyone, not just top athletes or the few who can pay luxury prices. That's why we keep our prices as fair as we can. The more people make them part of their routine, the more accessible we can make them.

BUILT THE WAY WE WANTED IT

When we planned AURORA, we asked one question: if we built this place for ourselves, what would we change? The EMS studio where it all began had heavy suits, cables, cramped rooms, tired equipment and a shower you wanted to get out of quickly. So we chose WIEMSPRO, a Spanish pioneer in fully wireless EMS, with lightweight suits you can actually move in. For red light, we chose full-body pods: full-body coverage that a home panel can't give. Both in a bright, spacious studio, with a shower afterwards that feels like part of the experience: fresh towels and Rituals products.
We'd rather do two things exceptionally well than ten things because they're fashionable.

NO DREAMS. NO ILLUSIONS.

This field is full of big promises. We don't make them. We chose red light therapy and EMS because both are among the most researched technologies in wellness. And we'll tell you exactly what that research shows.

WHAT THE RESEARCH LOOKS AT

Red light therapy

  • Studied in athletes, including muscle soreness after training [Ferraresi 2016]

  • One of the most studied technologies in skin research [Wunsch 2014]

  • Five wavelengths, 633 to 940 nm, front and back, in a lie-down pod.

EMS: what studies looked at

NOT JUST FOR ATHLETES

Red light therapy is hugely popular in professional sport. Top clubs and athletes use it as part of their routine. But most of our clients don't train for anything. They come for a warm, quiet break after a day at a desk, or simply to feel good in their body. You don't need to be fit, sporty or flexible. For red light, you just lie down. For EMS, a trainer guides you through every minute.

WHY PEOPLE KEEP COMING BACK

Athletes come back for the ritual. Others come back because they finally found exercise they don't dread. What they tell us is surprisingly similar. With regular red light sessions, many clients say they feel relaxed, energised and look forward to their next session. With EMS, they notice more strength and better posture, in a fraction of the time a gym takes. They simply feel good. That's why so many come several times a week.

RED LIGHT THERAPY

PHOTOBIOMODULATION

In 1967, in Budapest, Endre Mester ran some of the first experiments with low-power laser light on living tissue. Later, LED technology brought red light out of the lab. Today it's used in sports, skin care and wellness, from pro sports clubs to studios like ours.

ELECTRO STIMULATION

EMS TRAINING

In the 1780s, Luigi Galvani discovered that electricity makes muscles contract. Sports scientists later brought it into training. Wireless whole-body EMS developed only in recent years. Today it's used for strength training and posture, in short sessions with a trainer.
